

Gail is survived by her husband Dixon Wall Coulbourn and their two sons Travis Coulbourn and Dan Coulbury, daughters-in-law Jessica Coulbury and Katie Malinski, 4 beloved grandchildren: Calvin, Maggie, Marley, and Caroline, brothers-in-law Sam Coulbourn and Enrique Flores, and sister-in-law Marty Coulbourn, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends. She was predeceased by their oldest son Dixon Edge Coulbourn, who died in 2005, and her sister-in-law Martha Coulbourn Flores.
Gail was born in Tyler, Texas, to Sibyl & Clifford Connell. She graduated high school in Port Arthur, Texas, attended college at Lamar Tech in Beaumont, Texas and graduate school (MA in English) from the University of Texas. She taught English at Lanier High School and ACC for many years. She, along with her husband Dixon, an engineer for 38 years at Applied Research Labs, were long-standing members of Red River Church and Covenant Presbyterian Church before that.
Gail was very athletic and highly valued regular exercise and healthy food. She loved to be outdoors and really enjoyed camping with her family. Everyone who knew her said she was very sweet and welcoming, always offering food and drink to any friend who came to their home. She had a knack for making people feel comfortable and important, and shared her generous spirit with family, friends, church family, and even strangers.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was very loved, and is deeply missed.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:30-2:00pm on Sunday, February 19, 2017 followed by funeral service at 2:00pm at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX. Interment will follow at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery at 3:30pm.
