Fred was born December 02, 1920 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Frederick Koch and Dora (Bliedung) Koch. He joined the Air Force in 1944 and proudly served for 22 years. During his time in the military he traveled extensively and saw much of the world. On February 28th, 1947 he married Ann Burns Adair. They had 3 children. After retiring from the military he moved his family to Austin and began his new career with The University of Texas. He was an avid stamp collector and movie buff.
He is survived by his devoted granddaughter, Michelle Stephens and husband Ezekiel; grandson, Matthew R. Koch; great-grandchildren Victoria Stephens and Jackson Stephens; brother, Edward Koch and wife, Joanne; numerous loving nieces, nephews; former daughter-in-law, Melodie Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Friederick and Dora; his wife, Ann Burns Koch; son, Colin Lee Koch; sisters, Melitta Koch Stewart and Melousine Koch Haskell.
Graveside Service will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 16th, 2016, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
