Evelyn, born March 8th, 1935, was raised in the Manor area and the eldest of seven siblings. She was widowed by her husband of many loving years. She and her husband owned a small grocery store and they enjoyed supporting the Texas Longhorns. Evelyn Jean was a member on a bowling league for Senior Women in Austin, and was a dedicated housewife, proud “me-maw”, loving aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to all whom knew her. Evelyn Jean kept to her Lutheran Faith, and had accepted the lord as her Savior in Christ. She had a raspy voice and squeaky laugh no one would ever forget and would just make you smile as she welcomed you with open arms and a warm lasting hug. Eve was always the person to go to for anyone needing a picture or to remember a moment in family gatherings-she had numerous pictures and photo albums of all of the family and cherished those memories and moments of each event sharing in detail stories of the pictures. She was a wonderful cook, especially desserts, and enjoyed having family over for dinners, special gatherings or just a surprise visit. After the dinner feasts, Eve would sit back in their recliners and watch the Texas Longhorns football games on their big screen tv and the family would be surrounded around them. Eve adored family, she loved to visit and just talk until she would run out of breath making sure you knew she loved you and just to get one more hug before you had to go. She will be missed by all whom knew her and had the experience to have her in their lives.
