The Lord lovingly gave us Elizabeth Ann Carpenter, on June 9, 1981. That Tuesday was the day the Lord granted us all an angel on earth, because to have known Elizabeth, was truly to have known the touch of heaven. For 32 years, Elizabeth carried a contagious spirit of pure bliss, joy and love that she shared with every person blessed enough to know her.
The Lord came close to returning His angel Elizabeth to heaven when she was three, but He knew Elizabeth had more lives to touch. He let His angel shine on earth for 29 more years; and shine she did. Elizabeth jumped hurdles and overcame obstacles unimaginable to all of us; always with the determination to gracefully exceed all boundaries. No mountain was too high for Elizabeth. And it feels minimal to say she was an inspiration to everyone blessed enough to know her, because she was more than an inspiration, she was the epitome of hope, unconditional love and grace.
Never speaking an ill word, always lending a helping hand, Elizabeth wore the most beautiful smile that warmed every heart in sight. And there are so many lucky enough to know that smile. From her old friends at Westlake High School, where Elizabeth graduated in 2000, to her new colleagues at Bee Caves HEB Grocery that she proudly worked alongside for 14 years. She enjoyed volunteering with Mobile Loaves and Fishes, the annual Halloween Carnival at Dell Children’s Hospital and Special Olympics. Everyone that Elizabeth touched will carry that smile with them, as they remember the innocence she breathed into us all.
She leaves behind a family who loved her fully, whose lives are better because of her: her father Jim Carpenter and his wife Robin, her mother Holly McCall Carpenter, her brothers James, Stephen and his wife Kaiti, her sisters Ashley and Allison, her grandparents Charlie and Judy Carpenter, John and LInda Rochner and Darryl Wheeler and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
But just as the Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away. The Lord now has His angel, Elizabeth, in heaven. And we will miss her every day. We love you, Elizabeth. Thank you for being our special angel on earth, and now in heaven.
