Elaine Roberts of Cedar Park, Texas, age 84, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Johnny Roberts and three brothers Benjamin F Newberry III, Robert Newberry, and Russell Newberry.
Elaine was born to parents Benjamin Franklin Newberry II and Mary Tartaglia Harrell in Houston, Texas on 23 September 1936. She was the older sister to 3 boys, and she and Johnny had four children of their own. Though she had her hands full with 4 children she kept an open door for her large extended family and others.
When all her children were in school she went to work outside the home. She liked to say “don’t leave the house and don’t burn it down”. She insisted on manners, accountability, and honesty. She was a Dental Assistant for many years and was an office employee for and with her dear friends at Wayne Electric Co. for many more. Most of her grandchildren experienced going to work with Grandma when circumstances required last minute accommodations.
Elaine is survived by her four children Teri and husband David Green of Dripping Springs, TX; Johnny and wife Tamara of Hempstead, TX; Toni Roberts of Cedar Park, TX ; Ronny and wife Emily of Magnolia, TX and beloved nephew Preston Newberry of Denver, Co. and her dear Aunt Frances Cross of College Station, TX. She also had 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Her 12 Grandchildren, Chad, Landon, Amber, Mandy, Nicole, Crystal H., Dewayne, Harley, Molly, Dustin, Trenton, and Chrystal M.; her 24 great-grandchildren, Calvit, Dalton, Dakota, Linsey, Austin, Denver, Johnnie, Kenady, Cooper, Judas, Raleigh, Morgan, Mason C., Airi, Jin, Isaiah, Bella, Dustin Jr., Riley, Mason R., London, Dylon, Kreyce, and Blayne. - She was “Aunt Elaine” to so many and loved the honor.
Elaine was a devout Christian and was always generous with her time, at the ready with any help she could provide. She wanted success and happiness for all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, reveling in each triumph and achievement while offering support and encouragement when life got tough. She loved nothing more than traveling to visit family, old friends and new places that she had always wanted to experience.
The Family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love that they have received during this difficult time. We the family thank God for the gift of her life and the blessing of the time spent with her.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday , March 4, 2021 , 2:00PM. Service will follow at 3PM in the Chapel. Burial will follow immediately after. All events will be at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
