David Hall was born on the 2nd of September, 1952 in Bridgeport, Texas. He passed away on the 14th of March, 2012. David was a graduate of the University of Texas and had a notable 35 year real estate career. He started with Nash Phillips/ Copus Company and later opened his own office; David Hall & Company, where he was well known as the “Duplex Man.” Each of David’s clients held him in their highest regards for his strong sense of honesty, integrity and knowledge.
David is survived by his wife and best friend of 25 years, Karen Hall, and their English bulldog, Hoss Cartwright. David and Karen were married in Hawaii on Valentine’s Day. David lovingly went along with Karen’s adventurous spirit, and together they explored the United States and Europe.
David was an avid reader and treasured his extensive collection of sci-fi and mystery novels. And, if you knew David he would be smoking his favorite Macanudo while reading one of his favorite authors; Stephen King, Alfred Hitchcock, Arthur Conan Doyle, just to name a few. David was also a movie buff and loved going to the theater, and if not for his career as a real estate broker, he would have become a great movie critic.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladys and Ike Hartsell, who he loved dearly and had many fond childhood memories of summers spent with them on the ranch. David is also survived by his parents, Perry and Laree Hall, his brother Alan Hall and his sister Cathy Allison and their families.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2 o’clock in the afternoon until 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Sunday the 18th of March, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas, 78752.
