Cynthia was raised in England and had one sister, Dorothy Joan Wood. On September 16, 1959, Cynthia exchanged wedding vows with Franklin Duane Archer at the Harrow Church of England.
Cynthia was blessed with one child, Cheryl Diane. They were also blessed with one grandchild, Shawna Kay.
She was employed for 20 years by Army Air Force Exchange Services as a Services Manager. Cynthia always made the effort to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Her favorite pursuits were knitting and gardening. Cynthia was content to enjoy her hobbies alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Throughout her later years, Cynthia was an active member of the TBPA, and the PTA. Religion and faith were important to Cynthia. She held dear the faith and values she derived from her beliefs. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal. During that time, she served her church as a member of the Altar Guild and a gardener.
Cynthia was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of Cynthia’s favorites was Blackie, a spaniel and Sparky, an English Water Spaniel. They were best friends for 14 years and 15 years. Her family was rounded out by her 18 other dogs.
As her retirement approached, Cynthia viewed the event as just one more project to research and solve. So, when the day finally arrived in 1997 at Randolph Air Force Base, she was well prepared. In retirement, she found new pleasure in gardening, church and shopping.
Cynthia passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Austin, Texas.
She is survived by daughter, Cheryl & (Kevin) Schulthies, granddaughter, Shawna & (Raymond) Gallardo, and great-grandchildren, Erick Skinner, Elijah-Ray Gallardo, Benjamin Gallardo and Alyssa Gallardo.
Funeral Services were held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with The Rev. Elizabeth Zarelli Turner officiating. Cynthia was laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin, Texas.
The experiences she treasured most were those she shared with her loved ones. Cynthia M. L. Archer will be greatly missed.
