Charlie, to his friends and family, was a beloved husband, father, friend, and sponsor. Anyone who knew Charlie would agree he was a man of integrity and compassion, one of the kindest and most generous people you would ever meet, always doing whatever he could to help you.
He loved shooting sporting clays with his wife and best friend Katie. They traveled in the motor home with their pup “Izzy.” He called it their “fort on wheels.”
Over the last three decades, Charlie has been a leader in the business community, in construction, real estate, and many other areas across the United States, providing jobs and opportunities to dozens of people. His employees, Randy, Pino, Dennis, Peter, Jason, Willy, and many others have been with him for decades and will miss him dearly.
He has been one of our nation's greatest advocates and leaders in the area of alcoholism and addiction recovery. As a person in long-term recovery himself, Charlie has been clean and sober since 1985. In the three decades since, Charlie and Katie have traveled the world as one of the most sought-after couples carrying the message of recovery. He loved helping people achieve freedom and sobriety as God's calling for his life. To date, thousands of men across the world attribute their freedom from addiction to the message delivered by Charlie Parker.
Charlie served on the board of directors of Austin Recovery and was a large benefactor of dozens of charitable organizations. He was an active member of the Christian church, baptized in a beautiful experience in his pool April 16th, 2023.
Through his battle with liver cancer, Charlie made many friends in the medical world while maintaining his great spirit and growing faith, inspiring many along the way.
Charlie dearly loved his family. His daughters Sadie and Grace were the apple of his eye. He spoke of the girls often with such love and adoration. He also cherished his stepchildren April and Sam and his grandchildren Max, Holly, Ryder, and Harper. He held dear his mother, Ruth, who just celebrated her 100th birthday, his sister Carole, and his 3 nephews Nicolas, Julien and Philippe.
