Carolyn S. (Goyer) English September 30, 1921 – December 2, 2009 Carolyn English (88), long-time resident of St. Louis, MO and Sun City, AZ; passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas on December 2. She was loved and adored by family and friends she made over the years. Born in St. Louis, Missouri; she resided there with her husband, Milford, and their four children until 1966 when the family moved to Chicago for Milford to join the Northern Trust Company. Carolyn and Milford later moved to Sun City, Arizona, where she lived until 2007. Carolyn was preceded in death by Milford in 2000. She is survived by her four children (Michael, Christopher, Steven and Laurie Evans), nine grandchildren and seven great grand- children. Carolyn graduated from the Flynn Park School in University City (St. Louis). She was a loving mother and housewife during her adult life. She was very active in her children's school activities while they were growing up. She excelled as a seamstress and at knitting and enjoyed many other handicrafts. Carolyn was a fun-loving personality who made new friends easily and became a valued member of various social groups wherever she went. After family duties came to an end, she became an active golfer and won many awards in ladies golf at her club in Sun City, Arizona. Her last residence, where she will be fondly remembered, was The Summit at Lakeway, a Brookdale assisted living facility in the Austin, Texas area. Carolyn and Milford were members of the Union Club (Chicago), and the Lakes Club and Union Hills Country Club, both of Sun City, Arizona.
