Well Bud,
I'ts already been a year since you went on ahead of me, but it seems like it was just yesterday.I still pick up the phone to call you and cuss 
NASCAR every week, but I catch myself just in time to keep from going ahead.
You are missed every time I go to

                I have been trying to find the right words, fact is there are no words to express how I feel.  I am speachless, go figure!  What I do know is that Bud was one of the few that I could be myself around.  Jody and my honeymoon, Bud made sure that we were having the greatest of times.  When you were blessed enough to be around Bud you learn that he liked to entertain, it came so natural for him to  project his 'ZEST FOR LIFE' on to everyone around him. He lived life to the fullest, the greatest, and most dynamic way in everything he did!!!!!!!!!  Loving
 you was his world. Elisa you made him very happy, gosh I've never seen a a man love a woman the way he loves you. Our memories will never fade and he will be forever missed.

Dear Elisa, i never dreamed I would be writing about this. You & Bud are two of my best friends in life. They say you are lucky to be able to count your friends on one hand after it's over & you two guys definitely are there. It was so great seeing you both on my visit to Texas. It was like I never left, you made me feel so at home. You both looked so healthy, i had no idea he was sick.I hoped we could all go to Cost Rica like we were talking about. Oh well, life goes by so fast. It seems like yesterday sometimes when we were riding down 6th street and I got pulled over and you all thought fast enough to tell the cops that the car up ahead mooned us and they took off to find them. We had more fun than we should have and the parts I remember I will never forget.I think about you guys everyday and now Bud and Chuck are hanging out together watching out for you from above.I know they are and I hope and pray we will all be together again. It all went by so fast.Bud is a great friend, a great painter,and a great person.I will never forget him and look forward to all the great times ahead.Hang in there Elisa and if there is ever anything i can do please do not hesitate to let me know.I love you guys & God loves you. He will never give you more than you can handle & Elisa you are a strong person.I will not say I know exactly how you feel because i hated when people would say that to me when people I knew passed away.Time helps.I feel lucky to have known Bud and maybe one day we will understand why God does what he does.Maybe He needed Bud more in Heaven.Good luck, your friend always,Greg

Bud called Jody one evening not long ago. I answered the phone and he told me how much he loved you. He knew how much you were doing for him and he loved you with all his heart. You can take comfort in knowing that. I love him for that.

He was a good man and he will be greatly missed by all of us.

 I am so saddened to hear that Bud has passed from your loving arms.  I will always remember him as a man who would do anything to help anyone, who adored his devoted wife, and who had a zest for life.

My heart hurts so much for you.  I feel so ridiculous because I had no idea Bud was ill. But, having read others' entries, I discover that you have obviously had a very difficult couple of years. I know you are strong and know that you were there for him 100%.  May you draw comfort in the memories that you have, memories that will always be with you.  I am here for you - and you know that I fully understand this journey. And even though it isn't ever stated, you are loved and respected by everyone who knows you!  May God keep you in His loving arms.

I knew Bud for 31 years.  To my daughter Lauren & I, it was always Bud & Elisa as if that was one word, or one name.  Bud & Elisa.

They were inseperable and in love for over 30 years.  He was cared for lovingly and expertly these last couple of years when he was sick by his wife Elisa - given every comfort possible or imaginable.

Bud loved his wife, his friends, working on their house, racing and anything to do with the water.  Some of you knew him from his years surfing.

He loved his dogs Boo & Dixie; preceded by Scootie, Backfire, Spanky & Elwood, Astro, Bongo, Hot Dog, and others.  The care and affection he gave all his dogs over the many years reflects on the character and tenderness of his heart.

Bud will be missed by all of us who knew him.  We will never forget.

I knew Bud and Mike through High School, and had the most fun at the beach with the Garrett's in Galveston, 25th, 37th, and 53rd, were the best to get together, share stories, and have fun in the back of the "war wagon".  We were there enough to know some of the locals like "silver tooth" and other local characters so just being at the beach 3-5 days a weeks was more fun than Laverne St. in Pasadena.  For a brief time, PSA was the best of surf clubs, and Bud was one of the younger hot surfers.  Most of us went ASAP to San Diego area to surf better waves and improve.  One of the best & scariest days was in Freeport.  We were all out their in 4-6 foot washing machine chop breaking out beyond the jetty, we all went out and if you caught a good wave and it broke on you, you went straight to the beach with the white water.  We all made it in, and straight to our cars to get the heater on because we had no wet suits, and it was winter cold.  We looked around and all were their except Stanley Reynolds, so we looked and looked out in the waves next to the freeport jetty, finally we saw Stanley, bloody and beat up on the inside of the jetty.  We all laughed, except Stanley, and it was just another day at the beach.  You will be missed Bud, I am glad you had a beautiful wife and a great life in Austin, still playing in the water.  Take care Dude, adios, later.

I don't know how to say goodbye to one of my oldest friends so I'll just say fair weather and following breezes on your journey until, God willing, we meet again. Mike

bud was the best friend i have ever had, and i miss him so much already, i don't know how the rest of the days will be without him around. i have picked the phone up, only to put it down again,remembering that he won't answer it any more. all we can do is remember all the good times we had together, and we had a lot of good times! thank you, Bud.

Elisa, my lasting image of Bud is him standing up in the jet ski, blazing down lake Austin as fast as the thing would go, long hair trailing in the breeze. He did live life to the fullest, and I know he appreciated you to the fullest, too. No man could have a better wife, better helper, or better friend. He'll always have a place in our hearts because he, probably better than anyone else, knew what a kind, strong and loving person you are.

Please know that we are thinking about you, wishing you the best. Hope to see you very soon.

Elisa, I am Nancy's sister. I am very sorry to hear you lost you husband Bud. I know you took good care of him and helped his life to be better, especially at the end. You will be blessed you giving him your love and support in sickness and in health.
