Bruce Cagle, age 55, died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Austin on Friday, November 27. He was born the youngest of three sons to Bill and Dick Cagle in Beeville, Texas on August 18, 1960. As a member of a Marine family, he lived coast to coast and especially enjoyed his four years in Honolulu before settling permanently in Austin in 1974.
Bruce graduated from Anderson High in 1978 and attended Texas State University. He worked in various fields and has been employed at Crown and Anchor for the past twenty-five years.
Though a man of few words, Bruce expressed himself with sharp wit and intelligence. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and had special affection for his nieces and nephews. He was a generous person with special sympathy for those less fortunate than he.
Mourning his absence will be his mother, Bill Cagle, and two brothers: Rich and wife Janice of Corpus Christi and Clint and wife Donna of Austin. Nieces and nephews include Cheryl and Brian Rister and daughters Abby and Emma, Chris and Todd Gilbertson and daughter Jordyn, George and Tiffany Cagle and son Aaden, Hannah and Alex Walker, Ryan Cagle, Daniel Cagle, and Nathan Cagle.
A memorial service will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd. on Saturday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. Please dress casually; Bruce so hated wearing a suit.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice if you wish.
