Bonnie McCauley Rosen finished her rounds on Monday, December 23, 2013. She was a wonderful, loving, sweet wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and full of life best friend, and the best nurse in the world.
Surviving children: Michael S. Rosen (Austin), and Cynthia A. Rosen (Austin). Family: brother, Andrew McCauley (New Mexico); nieces and nephews in Rockdale, New Braunfels, Dallas, and Austin.
Bonnie was a dedicated nurse, trained during WWII by the Sisters of Charity, Seton Nursing School of Austin, Texas. She spent many dedicated service hours in private, office, and hospital attendance. She served duty at: Brackenridge
Hospital; with Drs. Kreisle and Glazner; then, Austin Diagnostic Clinic; finally retiring after many years as a nursing supervisor with St. David's Hospital.
During her lifetime, Bonnie was a member of many social clubs: Zilker Garden Club; Onion Creek Christian Women's Group; Seton Alumnae; and many other service groups. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years,
Major B.H. Rosen (APD); and by a much beloved son, Cpl. Patrick D. Rosen, 19 yrs. old, Vietnam casualty of 1971.
Bonnie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain Donna Lauzon to officiate.
