Bonnie Ellen Orsag

Bonnie Ellen Orsag, age 80, passed away on October 12, 2024 in Austin, Texas. Bonnie was born on May 28th, 1944 in Austin, Texas, to parents John and Nadine Glass. She graduated from Breckenridge School of nursing at UT Austin and became registered as a nurse in 1966. She worked in various Austin hospitals including Breckenridge and Holy Cross, resigning from Seton hospital, where she had become a respected charge nurse, in June of 2009.

Bonnie was a beloved sister and a loving mother. She married Leon Orsag in 1963, and the couple had two children together.

Bonnie regularly hosted holiday gatherings with friends and family and also delivered food and necessities to the homeless. She will long be remembered by many as hostess for many gatherings of musicians for gospel music sing-alongs in her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon and brothers; Eugene and Warren Glass.

She is survived by her brothers; John, Thomas and Joe Glass and her children; Johnny Orsag and Deborah Weatherby, with husband Jeremy Weatherby and their children Mathias and lvan.

All are welcome to attend services and celebrate Bonnie's life. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., October 22, 2024 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home located at 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin. It will be preceded by visitation at 10:00 a.m. and followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at the Corinth Cemetery in Buckholz, Texas. A reception for friends and family will follow at the Sirloin Stockade in Round Rock, Texas.
