Our beloved Bonnie Ofelia Cerda gained her wings to her eternal rest on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the age of 44. She was born in San Marcos, Texas on February 15, 1980 to Desideria Ramos and has been a part of Agustin Rodriguez’s life since she was 3. She graduated from Jack C. Hays High School in 1998.
At only 8 months old, Bonnie; a beautiful, bald-headed, green-eyed baby was already astonishing those around her as she started talking and asking inquisitive questions like “What’s your name?” “What are you doing?” and “Do you have any kids?” In addition, she did not begin walking until she was 2 years old because she was coddled and very “chiflada” that she was held all the time by family.
Bonnie loved her family; she did her best to provide and to be active in her children and grandson’s lives. She was also one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans. She may not have agreed on the coaching and players-and you can bet she yelled a curse word or two-but they had her attention and she loyally cheered for them on game days. All of those that knew and cherished her will infinitely miss her.
She has been reunited with her maternal grandparents, Natalio and Ofelia Ramos, Tio Jesus “Chuy” Ramos, Tia Margarita “Mague” Trevino, Tia Teresa Melendez and sister Daisy Ramos Rivera.
Bonnie is survived by her loving boyfriend Raul Madrigal; her children, Laura Cerda, Alyssa Martinez and Christian Martinez; and two grandsons, Manuel “Manny” and Antonio “Gordo; her parents, Agustin and Desideria Rodriguez; her brothers, Randy Ramos (Amy) and Oscar Rodriguez (Veronica) and her sister, Irma Rodriguez (Matt) her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and an abundance of relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for all the love and support that have been bestowed upon our family. All the prayers, meals, donations, visits and especially your love and heartfelt condolences have been carrying our family through this difficult time.
Bonnie know we have many fond memories of you- you will be remembered, missed and we all will (in Raul’s singing voice by Minnie Riperton) be “Lovin’ You” always!
