April Jean Torres Rodriguez

April came to us on September 1st, 1975 thirty-five years ago on Labor Day. On September 4th, 2010, our sweet child returned to the Father. April was born and lived in Austin, graduating from Bowie high school in 1994. She loved playing games and being with friends and family. She is survived by her parents Betty Torres and Abel Rodriguez , boyfriend Aaron Drye, brother Jason Rodriguez and his wife Debbie, and niece Adrianna Rodriguez, as well as grandparents, aunt, uncles, and several cousins who all loved April’s spirit.

When we attempt to describe this beautiful human being words fall away, leaving only the tender love in our hearts. April was special and cherished by many. She touched the lives of all that she knew. She faced enormous challenges in life, and she faced them with pride, tenacity, and dignity. She made those who knew her better people.

We are saddened by her absence, but we know that she is with God in peace. God blessed us with April, and asked that she return to Him. We hope to follow her examples of poise and strength during this difficult time. Our heavy hearts are lifted by our happy memories with her.

April, we do not say good bye for you are in our hearts. We will always hear your laughter, see your smile, feel your tiny pats of comfort and hear the words that complete our family. We love you, will be with you always, and will see you again.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Reverend Bill Wack, C.S.C. officiating.
