Andrew “Drew” Ayran Alves, beloved friend and passionate nature enthusiast, passed away on September 20, 2024, at the age of 43. Born on June 22, 1981, to parents, Dawn Alves McCarty and Scott “Pops” Alves, he lived a life rich in adventure and companionship.
A true lover of the outdoors, Drew spent his free time exploring the beauty of America’s national parks near and far, local spots here in Austin, and other more exotic locales such as Peru. He found solace and joy in nature, often with his cherished dogs, Banana and Puddin, by his side. His love for “his girls”, Banana and Puddin, and the outdoors was matched only by his deep bonds with friends and family, who will forever remember his warmth and love for them along with his contagious smile.
While Drew was known for his time working in the service industry, working at many Austin establishments, festivals, and events, he recently took on a new endeavor and joined Clear Choice Roofing of Austin. He brought laughter and joy to all who knew him and were lucky enough to spend time with him, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Drew will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit and unwavering love for his furry companions, friends, and family.
Drew is survived by his father, Scott “Pops” Alves; mother, Dawn Alves McCarty and step-father, Keith McCarty; brother, Matthew Alves; sisters, Adrianne Hocker and Riana Millington; aunt, Kelli Alves; nephews, Keaton Alves and Brayden Alves; niece, Peyton Alves, and many many friends that truly enriched Drew's life.
A memorial service for Drew will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704.
