Adrian Alex McGhee

Adrian McGhee, the beloved son of John and Belinda McGhee, passed away in his apartment in Austin, Texas on May 4, 2019. In addition to his loving parents, Adrian is survived by and extended family including his maternal grandmother Lilia Despujols, his aunts and uncles Lilian and Dominique Hernandez, Glenn Despujols, Jessica Despujols and Scott Vanya, Bob and Bobbie Warner, Mary McGhee and Enrique Emilio Despujols; and cousins Meghan McGhee, Jessica Despujols, and Ian and Isabella Vanya.

Adrian was born in Austin, and loved his native city dearly. He attended Walnut Creek elementary, Paragon Middle school, and Anderson and Premier high schools. At the time of his death, he was studying Economics and had hoped to pursue a degree in Law after graduation. He spent several happy summers working as a lifeguard for the City of Austin, finishing as a district supervisor for a large number of pools.

Adrian was an avid reader, a connoisseur of fine dining experiences, an excellent writer and speaker, and loved animals, especially the dogs and cats in our household menagerie. Those who knew him well knew him as a kind, beautiful person - and a deep thinker who used his intelligence to develop his own internal moral compass. He will be missed.

Services will be held at 11:00 on Monday, May 13th, at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center Great Hall.
