Irene "Renee" Gweneth Lawrie

With a lifetime of deepest and heartfelt gratitude to Doris and Joe Austin who devoted their lives to Lynette.

Renee leaves behind daughters Lynette Shepherd nee Austin(Jim) and Mary-Kathleen Lawrie (Florence Exibard); grandchildren Kory, Jacob, Chaya, Morgan and great-grandchild Levi.

Renee worked part time in high school at Newmarket Hospital and later studied nursing at Women’s College Hospital and worked in Wellesley Emergency for over a year. Renee transitioned to policing where she graduated from Ontario Police College and proudly served as an officer of the Metropolitan Toronto Police now the Toronto Police Department.

Upon retirement Irene devoted herself to caring for her parents George and Velma.

Visitation for Irene will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G6W8. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 1, 2023, 1:00 PM at Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria Street, Aurora, ON L4G1R3. Interment to follow at Newmarket Cemetery, 112 Main Street North, Newmarket, ON L3Y 4A1.
