Richard Ernest Post

Richard E. Post, 78, passed away on June 21, 2015. He was born on June 5, 1937 in East Fishkill, New York to Ernest James Post and Lillian May McKeel Post. He has two siblings: Norma Post Gallinger (deceased) and Virginia Post.

Richard shared the raising of two children, Richard Allen Post; wife Fran May Post, who reside in Goldsboro, NC; sons: Michael Post and Matthew Post, and daughter, Cynthia Leah Post who resides in Lakeland, FL; children: Kristina Hunt, Heather Hunt, and Tyler Pettis. He also leaves behind four great-grandchildren that adored him, Eric Cousins, Josiah Hunt, Jadeyn-Rose Hunt, and A'mya Hunt.

Richard, known as Dick or Rich resided his retirement days in Lakeland, Florida. He passed away on Father’s Day, June 21, 2015, of natural causes from COPD disease. He fought this for many years and stayed strong till the end. The peacefulness on his face that last day let his family know that he is above them in Heaven renewed and happy!

Richard leaves everyone that knew him behind with "many" memories that will be cherished, shared, and re-lived forever with a laugh in their voice, remembering the way he always brightened the room.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27, at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 2198 K-Ville Ave. Auburndale, Florida, on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 1 pm. A service will also be held at date to be announced in July at Hopewell Junction Cemetery in Hopewell Junction, New York.
