
MECHANIC FALLS — Richard Earl Clukey, 89, of Mechanic Falls died Saturday, December 24, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 29, 1927, in Chester, Maine, the son of Arthur William Clukey and Lottie Beathem Clukey. From 1947 to 1950, he served in the US Army Air Corps. In 1950, he married Bertha (Betty) Cote of Lewiston. Richard worked for 19 years at Lown Shoes and 32 years for Auburn Motor Sales and Rowe Ford. His hobbies were repairing tractors, riding his motorcycle, playing the guitar and banjo.
He is survived by his wife Bertha, daughters Susan C. Grondin of Lewiston and Janet C. Nelson of Auburn, grandson Scott M. Grondin of Eliot. He is also survived by his in-laws Armand Cote and wife Madeleine of Lisbon Falls, Connie Crump and husband Marvin of North Monmouth, Evelyn Deblois and husband Edgar of Greene, Normand Bosse of Litchfield, Francis Cote and wife Laurie of Minot, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 4-7pm at Fortin/AUBURN. A burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
