Born on December 3rd, 1932 in Auburn, he was the son of John W. Nason Sr. and Gladys (Parker) Nason. He was the youngest of 8 children. Don Attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little in 1951. After Graduation he worked in the Edward Little music department. In 1953 Don served in the Army, while stationed in Germany, he became a member of the U.S. army 110th infantry Regimental Band. After 2 years he returned home to Auburn.
Upon returning home, he worked for the Edward Little Music department for a year. He was then hired by Sears Roebuck where he remained for 36 years, retiring in 1992 as head of maintenance. After he retired he volunteered at CMMC delivering mail and whatever was asked of him. He remained there for 20 years. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and swimming, his love of music continued through his life.
Don played in many community bands and the Kora Shriner Band. He also played piano and organ for many surrounding churches. Don belonged to the Auburn Senior Citizen Club, the Masonic Order, Kora Temple, Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, local granges and many local churchs. He was a quiet man who loved to be on the go and shared his love of music and fellowship.
Don is survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and many many friends.
Don was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings, Brothers; Robert, Richard, Harold, Albert and John Jr., sisters; Arlene Johnson and Barbara Leighton.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9-11AM with a religious service beginning at 11AM on Friday the 14th at the Fortin Group in Auburn, 217 Turner St. A burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
