Auburn – Donald A. Morin, 88, of Auburn passed away on February 4, 2023 at the Androscoggin Hospice House with his family by his side. Born in Lewiston, ME the son of Rene and Ella (Fontaine) Morin on September 24, 1934.
He attended St. Dom’s High School before serving his country in the United States Navy from 1950 – 1955. After his military service he worked at Phillips Elmet for 37 years until his retirement from full time work. He later worked another 16 years at Olfene’s, Cottles and Hannaford Food Chains. On March 31st 1979 Donald married the former Jacqueline Parlin.
Donald is survived by his wife Jackie; a son Richard and Janice Morin; two daughters Diane and Jeffrey Cooper, Lisa and David Gastonguay; step daughter Cynthia and Ralph Yanez; 2 step grandchildern, 7 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren; a brother Maurice and Collette Morin; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers Laurence and James Morin and a sister Claudette Deveaudreil.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at St. Marys ICU and the Androscoggin Hospice House. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Androscoggin Hospice House, 15 Strawberry Ave, Lewiston ME 04240 in Donald’s name.
A committal service will be held on Monday February 13th at 11:00am at St. Peters Cemetery on Deer Rd in Lewiston ME.
