MINOT—Charlene Clifford Nason, 85, of Minot, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, after a courageous battle with dementia. She was born in Lewiston on April 16, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Anna Moore Clifford. Charlene attended local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1948 and married her husband of 67 years that same year. Together they raised their family of four children. Charlene retired from General Electric and was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as a longtime Grange Member belonging to Minot Center Grange. Charlene is survived by her husband, John; a son, Neal and his wife, Cindy Nason, of Minot; three daughters, Janice and her husband, Richard Ouellette, of Minot, Connie and her husband, Glenn King, of Auburn, and Mary and her husband, Matt Foster, of Minot. Nana is also survived by seven grandchildren Tabitha King, Barbie Nason, Angelique Ouellette, Toby and his wife Joann King, Mindy and her husband Randy Mercier, Travis and his wife Sabrina Ouellette, McKyle and his wife Emily Foster, and 7 great grandchildren Chelsey King, Tyler King, Isaac King, Lillian Mercier, Wesley Mercier, Grayson King, Wyatt King.; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Clifford. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters. The family wants to offer a special thanks to First Light Homecare and private care providers Linda Camire and Lisa Surrette for providing exceptional care and love to our family.
A celebration of life will be celebrated at the Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St. Auburn on July 14th at 4pm followed by a reception at the Fortin Group for family and friends. Committal will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park and will be private. Donations may be made in Charlene’s memory to Beacon Hospice, 245 Center St. #10A, Auburn ME 04210.
