I worked with Dick at GM Truck years ago.  There are a lot of good stories that can’t be shared here due to lack of space.  Suffice it to say that Dick was a great guy and will be missed.  I wish I had kept in touch with him through the years.  My thoughts and prayers for Carmen and the rest of his family.

So sorry to hear about "Daddy Dick's" passing. Wish we could have been in town to pay our respects in person. He was a good soul and even though we had moved from Auburn Hills, he was never far away from our thoughts.
He will be missed and our condolences go out to Carmen and the family.

Dick was my neighbor growing up basically my whole life. My parents and I moved on the street when I was just 2 years old. I became friends with dicks next door neighbor kids Moz and Bumpy which is how I first originally met dick as a young kid. As the years went on him and Carmen became friends with my parents as well. I remember as a kid EVERY snowstorm dick would plow the sidewalk so us kids could walk home safely from the bus stop. He loved helping and looking out for everyone on our street including myself!  Dick was a wonderful man who had the biggest heart. Henrydale is not gonna be the same without ya dick. I’m sure gonna miss your waves from the front porch and our visits up to dick and Carmens with all my kids. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor growing up.  You will forever be missed. Rest easy dick

My husband, daughter and I moved to Henrydale in 1995. We were a young family moving on a street that literally everyone was related. I always remembered Dick and Carmen sitting on their porch. Not sure when we started our friendship but it was soon after. Dick was the Mayor I was told and he certainly was. He knew everything and everyone. Dick would help me out ALL the time when Doug was gone hunting or fishing. I will forever be grateful to Dick for all he did for our family. We love you Dick and WE WILL look after Carmen PROMISE!!

I’ve known Dick and Carmen my entire life, they have always been good to me and my family and I’m forever grateful for them. I will miss Dick dearly, I’ll miss our Sunday morning chats in the driveway and the trash talk when the Vikings beat the Lions . I’ll miss waking up early to the sound of him cutting his grass , and especially his wave when turning in the driveway. I’ll never forget all the things he’s taught me over the years about life, work, and fishing . Words cannot describe how much he truly meant to my family, friends and myself.  Gone , but not forgotten . Rest in peace Dick. 

There aren’t enough words to describe how much Dick will be missed at my house and all the neighbors on Henrydale Street. Auburn Hills will not be the same without him. We have a lot of memories in our hearts that will have to keep us going until we meet again. The Poynter family loves you!

Very sad to hear about this. Dick was my step grandfather for a while as a kid. I always liked their quaint house and yard in auburn hills. My brother and I especially enjoyed learning how to hang out with the guys in the garage lol. Even though we were young. 
Dick and Carmen always treated us with love and I’ll never forget that.
