Sheryl J. Cramer (Nordhus), age 75, of Auburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Born in Van Nuys, California on May 26, 1948. Sheryl was the 1st born to Ken and Gladys Nordhus. Sheryl was raised in So. California with her siblings Sandy and Kenneth Craig.
Sheryl retired from Pacific Bell after nearly 35 years. She was active with the Telephone Pioneers and took pride in her volunteer work for many years. She later worked at Crate and Barrel to have more “play money” to spoil the grandkids. Sheryl had a sharp mind, was fiercely independent and loved her family and friends.
Sheryl had a passion for cooking and was known for hosting amazing get-togethers. To be at a gathering with her was to know you’d laugh, eat delicious gourmet-level food, and have great conversation. She also enjoyed frequent camping trips with friends. Sheryl crossed off a bucket list dream by traveling in her camper across the country from California to the East Coast with her long-time partner Leon. Monterey was also a favorite getaway spot. Did we mention Sheryl was a diehard race car fan?
Sheryl is preceded in death by her beloved son, Rick and parents Ken and Gladys. She is survived by her partner Leon, siblings Sandy and Kenneth Craig, loving daughter Christine and son-in-law Bryan and lovebug grandkids Hayden and Claire. She will be missed immensely.
Services at New Auburn Cemetery will be private. A Celebration of life will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association in her honor.
