Elva O. Johnson

Longtime resident of Newcastle, CA passed away peacefully on July 24, 2012 at 88 yrs old. She was born on August 16, 1923 in Damon, Latimer, OK. She is survived by her husband Rendell Ray Johnson, Sr. and they enjoyed 69 wonderful years together. She is also survived by her 3 sons; Rendell R. Jr, Steven Garth and Kevin Paul; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Her family was always her first priority. We gathered together often and enjoyed her amazing spirit and home cooked meals and baked goodies. Her love of music inspired others as she conducted hymns at her LDS church and directed many choirs. She was an elementary teacher’s aide for many years and tutored children with their reading. She was very creative, which led her to helping family and friends with their weddings by making beautiful flower arrangements and decorations. She was a pillar of strength, faith, courage and dedication. She touched many lives by her incredible example of unconditional love.

A viewing will be held at the Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm. Her Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the LDS church on 287 Poet Smith Drive, Auburn CA. Viewing will be at 9:00am, Funeral service at 10:00am.
