She was born in Menno, South Dakota on September 26, 1921 to Marguerite and Ewald Gall. Beverly graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1939 and went on to graduate from Michael Reese Nursing School in Chicago, Illinois in 1943.
Preceding her in death were her parents, sisters: Betty Bonacker, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Caroll Nesseth, Marco Island, Florida; Jeanette Twedell, Huston, Texas; and grand-daughter, Amy Williams, Auburn, California. Also preceding her death were Beverly’s her first husband, Perry K. Sullenberger, M.D. – father to her surviving sons: Linn P. Sullenberger-Wiklund (Edna), Phoenix, Arizona and Earl L. Sullenberger-Wiklund (Deborah), El Dorado Hills, California; her surviving daughters: Cynthia A. Sullenberger-Wood, Auburn, California; and Judith A. Sullenberger-Williams (Rex), Auburn, California; and her second husband, Lawrence A. Wiklund – father to their surviving son, Lawrence A. Wiklund, Jr. (Myra), Portland, Oregon; and his surviving daughters: Laural J. Wiklund-Davis (Grant), Turlock, California; Patricia A. Wiklund, Kingston, Washington; and Ada M. Wiklund-Holloway, Modesto, California.
Besides her surviving 8 children, Beverly is survived by 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 8 great, great-grandchildren.
While pursuing her nursing career which spanned over 30 years, practicing in Illinois, Arizona and California, Beverly was also involved with the Republican Women’s group and the Women’s Fellowship of the Congregational Church in Auburn, as well as leaderships in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Beverly loved to travel visiting Guatemala, Mexico City, Mexico, Europe and Singapore. She was an avid bridge player, did volunteer work, and was a member of the Knit Whit’s which was a group of friends that met frequently to knit and socialize while living in Auburn during her retirement years.
Having managed a large family, Beverly was still able to create many, many happy memories for her ‘eight’ kids. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
Beverly will be interned in Sunset Memorial Park in Eureka, California with family members present.
