Timothy was a 1975 graduate of Etowah High School and in 1977 earned his Welding and Engineering Degree from Gadsden State Community College/Ayers State Technical College. He worked at Gulf State Steel and Camp Sumatanga. He was an ETCP Certified Rigger for the Entertainment Industry in the IATSE union (Locals 900, 78 and 479) Staging, Movie, and Production.
He is survived by his parents, Ray and Marie McClendon; brother, Wyman (Anna Luisa); niece, Yvette (Jason) Abrams (daughter Isabel); numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tim was a devoted son and friend who loved to travel, meet new people and experience new cultures while being strongly rooted in his family, his home community of Gallant and traditions of the past. He was an avid photographer, drone operator, and had a great appreciation for the arts, especially theatre. He took great care and pride in his theatrical productions across the country. For the last couple of years, he has been the primary caretaker for his beloved parents, providing day to day love, care and companionship.
Visitation for Mr. McClendon will be Sunday, March 26,, 2023 from 2pm until 3pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gallant. Service will begin at 3pm. Graveside service will be on-site at Bethlehem Cemetery. Rev. Donald McClendon will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Matthew McClendon, Mark McClendon, Chris Keene, John Lawson, Chase Greene and Ronnie McClendon.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that you “Celebrate Life” in honor of Mr. Timothy David McClendon.
