Funeral Services for Mrs. Rubye Gilliland Phillips, age 84 of Springville, will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Jody Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Born on Chandler Mountain, she was a homemaker for the majority of her life and a care taker for her seven children. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed going shopping, crossword puzzles and listening to Blue Grass and Gospel music. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Chandler Mountain Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William “Bart” Phillips of Springville, three daughters: Cathy Clifton of Springville, Renee Came (George) of Reece City and Grace Romine (Mike) of Rainbow City, three sons: Wes Phillips of Springville, Ben Phillips (Julie) of Pell City and Joey Phillips of Springville, son-in-law, Barry Bowlin of Gallant, six grandchildren: Mary Godfrey, Matt Bowlin (Summer), David Came, Bart Came (Sarah), Michael Phillips (Jennifer), and Taylor Romine, 10 great-grandchildren, three brothers: Lee Gilliland (Mary) of Steele, Corley Gilliland of Pell City and Bill Gilliland (Jody) of Steele, her brother and sister in law, John Phillips (Anita) of Hayden, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Dora Gilliland, her daughter, Judy Bowlin, four brothers: Kenneth, Burl, H.S. and Mark Gilliland, and her mother and father in law, Dover and Roberta Phillips.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 10:30 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.
