Funeral services will be at 2p.m. on Sunday February 4, 2018 at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Melissa Ward Nance age 62, who passed away on February 1, 2018. Bro. Ricky Haygood will officiate. Burial will be at Douglas Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Melissa was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a free spirit who loved life, nature, animals, and music. She was also an accomplished poet, hard worker and selfless giver. Melissa was a loving mother and “Mimi” to her grandkids. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Vandora Ward; her father, Guy Ward; and her husband, Kenneth Nance.
Melissa is survived by her son, Scot (Laura) Lee; daughter Melody Haley; brothers, Ted Ward, Horace (Marie) Ward; sister, Gail Ford and grandchildren, Austin and Hannah Lee and Cameron and Cason Haley.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service Sunday February 4th at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
