Mary Nell Braswell

Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Wednesday September 25, 2024 at 11:00am with a memorial service at 12:00pm and visitation continuing until 1:00pm.

Mary was born on April 30, 1948, in Guntersville, Alabama. She is a long time resident of Attalla, Alabama.

Mary spent over 30 years doing what she loved, being a caregiver. She was a member of Freedom Church.

She loved being around friends and family and laughing loud and having a good time.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, Perry A. Smith; mother, Gaynell Smith; husband, James Braswell; brothers, Mervin Smith and Earl Smith.

Mary is survived by her son, Alan (Tracie) Braswell, Attalla, AL; granddaughter, Megan (Andrew) Mauldin, Kimberly, AL; sisters, Donna Smith, Guntersville, AL, and Lucy Segers, Guntersville, AL.; along with host of nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Rhodarmer, Hunter Rhodarmer, Andrew Mauldin, Phillip Smith, and Lawayne Segers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to UAB nurses, critical care team, and neurological team.
