Larry is survived by his loving wife, Greta Gunn Payne, Attalla, AL., one son, Christopher Payne (Gennie), Louisville, Kentucky; daughter, Laura Williams (Richard), Raleigh, North Carolina; a step daughter, Carmen Thompson (Jason); 10 beautiful grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and cousins.
Larry led a life of service to his fellow man. From an Eagle Scout to Jacksonville State University to 36 years with Alfa Insurance, a 30 year career in 87th Mac Birmingham Army Colonel Retired to 14 years as district 3 County Commissioner Etowah County.
Larry’s accomplishments are too numerous to list. Now he serves in God’s Army of Saints. He will be missed.
