Joseph Grady Chapman

Funeral services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla on Friday August 30th. The family will receive friends in the Chapel from 4:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. Bro. Larry Garrard and Bro. Josh Doan to officiate.

Joe was born at Fort McPherson in Atlanta Georgia on October 4, 1944. He graduated from Etowah High School in 1962 and was crowned King his senior year. He went on to work for Hubble Metals in Gadsden, Alabama and eventually retired from All Metals Plant in Marietta, Georgia. Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a founding member of the Attalla Duck Club and was also a lifelong member of Ducks Unlimited of Gadsden, and Turkey Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Foye Elizabeth Smallwood Chapman; his father James Gordon Chapman; his brother, Michael Dean Chapman; and his daughter, Laura Beth Vincent.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Shannan (Joe) Chapman Wilkinson; his son, Casey Chapman; his sister, Diane Haney; one brother, Mark Chapman; as well as 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
