John Earl Nelson

Graveside services for John Earl Nelson, will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens at 11 am on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Danny Bowlin will officiate.

John loved his wife of 22 years, Glenda Kay Nelson, more than anything. She was his world, as he was hers too. John loved the outdoors, mainly fishing; you could easily call him a fish guru. Fishing was his way of life. John loved his family, extended family and his pets. He was an employee of Culp in Steele, AL for over 30 years. He had a heart of gold; he would do for others before he would do for himself.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Alma Frances Layfield and his wife, Glenda Kay Nelson.

He is survived by his three sisters, Bonnie Nelson, Brenda (Wayne) Gilliland, and Etta Nelson; his brothers George O'Leary and Patrick (Sandy) O'Leary; his sons Scott, Cody and Justin Bearden and Josh Bailey; his daughters Miranda Hilley and Misty Bailey. He is also survived by many grandchildren and one soon-to-be great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends he considered family.

Pallbearers will be family members.

John will be missed dearly.
