Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 until 1:30pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
Jerry graduated from Etowah High School Class of 1947. He worked at the Republic Steel for over 46 years. Jerry grew up in Ivalee and was a member of Red Hill United Methodist Church for many years. Later became a member of First United Methodist Church of Attalla. He loved sports and was a huge Etowah and Auburn fan. He enjoyed supporting and watching his children and grandchildren in any sports event they had.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margie Thompson; 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Sue Thompson; daughter, Connie Beddingfield; son, Mike (Terry) Thompson; grandsons, Nick Sabat, Jonathan (Crystal) Sabat, Clark Thompson, Bryant (Kathleen) Thompson; 3 great grandchildren, Kaden Sabat, Madi Kate Sabat, and Lucy Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Juston Mabrey, Tommy Runyan, Nick Sabat, Jonathan Sabat, Clark Thompson, and Bryant Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers and special thanks to Mike and Renee Rawlings, Larry Means, Richard and Jannie Smith, Carolyn and Edward Lee, Bill Hawkins, Charles O’Rear, Tommy and Angie Runyan, Ronnie Schwartz, and Troy Wagnon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
