Danielson, William "Bill" D., 95, passed away on November 12, 2021 in Atlanta, GA.
He was born on July 17, 1926 in South Dakota where he liked to tell stories of skiing to school with his three siblings. His civil engineer father was transferred to Atlanta in 1936, and Bill attended Boys High, then graduated with an architecture degree from Georgia Tech. He served in combat in Germany at the end of WWII. He married the lovely, Jean Loney Danielson, in 1953. She predeceased him in 1989. He founded the Danielson and Paine architecture firm and over the years designed hundreds of buildings in Atlanta. Bill was a lifelong golfer whose favorite activity was hitting the links at the Atlanta Athletic Club, with his fellow “Duffers.” He was also passionate about travel and his two sons were lucky enough to join him on some fascinating trips as youngsters.
Bill is survived by his sons, William Douglas Danielson Jr. “Doug” (Jill), Robert Cliff Danielson “Cliff” of Atlanta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 19 at H. M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel in Brookhaven followed by burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Thursday, November 18 from 6-8 PM H. M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
