Victoria Staples, 91, of Dunwoody, passed away on October 13, 2016 in Dunwoody. Funeral arrangements are a private family event. Victoria was born in Long Island City, New York to Tom and Jo Darcy on July 11, 1925. She went to school and graduated from Malverne High School, class of 1943. She married David Staples on June 2, 1951 in Malverne, New York. She worked as an administrative assistant for Doubleday Publishing Company and the Bethel Park and Shaker Heights School Districts. She volunteered and worked at Atlanta’s Northside Hospital for more than 20 years and was awarded employee of the year in 1993. She was a member of All Saints Church, loved to garden and was a voracious reader of books. Victoria is preceded in death by her husband David Staples, brother Tom Darcy and his wife Ann, and sister Marilyn McKew and her husband Don. Victoria is survived by children; Mark and Davene Staples, Darcy and Joe Mitchell, Brian and Emily Staples, Kathryn and Jim Fuller, David Staples, and grandchildren Audrey Staples, Dylan and Maggie Flemming, Lily Staples, Jay Fuller, Lauren Fuller, Andrew Fuller, Sam Fuller, and great-grandchildren Will Flemming and Emma Flemming. The family of Victoria wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Halcyon Hospice for their professional and loving care in preparing the family and Victoria for her journey to a better place.
