Rachel S. Hall

Rachel S. Hall, age 86, of Atlanta, passed away August 18, 2010. The daughter of the late Charles Hollis and Kate High Shores, Mrs. Hall was born in Spartanburg, SC. She was a member of Brookhaven Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she was very active in her Sunday School Class. Mrs. Hall enjoyed working in her garden, cooking fine southern meals, shopping, and working with various arts and crafts; but, above all, enjoyed spending time with her family. There are many fond memories of Mrs. Hall, known as “Mommu”, but she will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Benjamin R. Hall. She is survived by her children, Michael Hall, of Doraville, Cherie Craig and husband Mike, of Atlanta, Chris Hall, of Atlanta; grandchildren, Kathy Craig, of Atlanta, and Laura Hall Dyar and husband Andy, of Greshamville; brother, Ed Shores and wife Mary Virginia, of Atlanta; and sister, Mary Tatum, of Laurinburg, NC; nieces and nephews, and honorary daughter, Lisa Walden, of Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Patterson’s- Oglethorpe Hill, with interment following at Arlington Memorial Park.
