Noradel was born in Hanover, NH to Andrew and Deldee Truxal on October 14, 1931. She went to Hood College in Frederick, MD. She married Randolph Gould Wilson, Jr. and they shared 68 years of mutual devotion.
Noradel taught English and drama for many years and loved working with children and young adults. She was very involved in many leadership roles at Canterbury Court, her final home. She served as President of the Residents’ Council during the year that Canterbury raised funds for the new Medical Center and expansion of the campus for which she was very proud. Noradel was friends with both residents and staff at Canterbury Court, and her social connections were very important to her happiness in life. She was an Episcopalian and member of the Cathedral of St. Philip, but she loved bringing all faiths together during Vespers at Canterbury Court.
Noradel’s greatest passion was her children, family, Bingo the cat and Randy’s dogs. She loved nothing more than having her family gathered in one place.
Noradel was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her children, Cathy LaMon (Bob Seymour) Grace Wilson, Randy Wilson (Shannon); her grandchildren, Virginia LaMon (Susan Mendez), Nolan Wilson (Hannah), Weston Wilson (Sarah), Leigh LaMon Smith (Mike); great-grandchildren August and Blythe Wilson; sisters-in-law, Doris Truxal, Winkie Persinger; and nieces and nephews, Brian Truxal, Carol Fletcher, Marshall Persinger McKinnon, and John Persinger.
A celebration of life will be held on November 11, 2024 at 2pm at the Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Noradel’s honor to the Canterbury Scholarship Fund or AdoptaGoldenAtlanta.com.
