Mary Frances Crenshaw, aged 97, of Atlanta, Georgia, died peacefully on March 26. She was surrounded by her family and dear friends at her home, enjoying the view from her porch of the trees, flowers, and birds that she loved. Mary Frances was born in Lakeland, FL, and raised by her parents Helen Dorothy and Donald V. MacDonald. She attended high school in St. George, SC, and then Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. During World War II, she worked in public relations for the United States Navy in Charleston, SC, where she met her husband. They settled in Atlanta, where she was a Garden Club member and a devout member of the Peachtree Christian Church.
She will be missed by her five daughters: Emily Perkins of Charlotte, NC; Kathleen Crenshaw of Athens, GA; Dorothy Crenshaw and husband Larry Bennett of New York, NY; Tina Crenshaw of Charlotte, NC; and Ruth Anne Crenshaw of Atlanta, as well as grandchildren Wright Perkins, his wife Courtney and their son Henry; Jenny Perkins and fiancé Manny Rosen; Stephanie Hansen, husband Alex Ragland and sons Sam and Ben; Drew Orey; and Olivia Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Crenshaw, Jr.
A funeral remembrance will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Peachtree Christian at 1580 Peachtree St. NW, with visitation at 1:00 and service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crenshaw Fund at Peachtree Christian Church,1580 Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA 30309 .
