Mary Frances Cowan

Mary Frances (Mitchell) Cowan left this earth on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mary Frances was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1932. She began her career at Lockheed in 1951 and retired in 1973. She was a member and volunteer at Mountain West Church since 1991. Mary Frances is survived by her son, Richard Jack Cowan and his wife of 31 years, Rebecca Cowan, their children, daughter Brittany Lauren (Cowan) Yoder, her husband Brian Yoder and son, Kyle Joshua Cowan. Son, Michael Anthony Cowan, his fiancé Janey Campbell and daughter Lindsey Megan Cowan and dear cousin and best friend, Caroline Grant. As well as many devoted family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, George Amos Cowan. She will be deeply missed for her expansive heart, keen intellect and tolerant acceptance of any and all who crossed her path. To celebrate Mary Francis’ life, her family asks that you carry forward kindness, open your mind and hearts to treasure others, and enjoy life’s comforts with gratitude. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31 at 1 o’clock at Oglethorpe Hill. Entombment Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Road, NE, Brookhaven, Georgia, 30319.
