Madeleine Fleagle was born in Belgium to Maurice and Yvonne in October, 1920. She emigrated to the United States as WWII broke out in Europe. She met and married David in 1941. Madeleine graduated from Palmer School as a Doctor of Chiropractic and dedicated the majority of her career to the medical field. After many years of service, she retired from the Veterans Affairs (VA). She also lovingly knitted blankets and booties for the NICU at Northside Hospital, providing comfort and warmth to newborns and their families.
Madeleine was preceded in death by her husband, David Fleagle and two sons, Ronald Fleagle and Todd Fleagle. She is survived by her daughters, Arlene and Susan; grandchildren, Vivian Knipfer, Valerie Pinson (Chris) and Kim Bourdon (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Wesley, Brynlee, Brady, Dominic, Isabelle, Donovan and Julianna; and great-great-grandchildren, Iyla and Elliot.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am, with Fr. John Bolduc officiating. Burial will take place at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Madeleine’s memory may be made to: Doctors Without Borders, World Wildlife Fund, MARA, Ocean Conservancy or Native American charities.
