UN MESSAGE DE LA FAMILLE

On Erin’s passing we lost a wife, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, a mother, a friend. She is missed by us all. We all have our own memories of the time we knew Erin and wish we could have had more. Mine began on January 2nd, 1975 when Erin came screaming into this world at the Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina. I was the luckiest man in the world because I was introduced to the finer points of fatherhood on day one. Her Mom, Robin, had to stay in the hospital due to a post birth infection. I brought Erin home and realized I had no clue what I was doing, but luckily, I had attended Lamaze classes. The classes were woefully inadequate, but I managed to not throw up during the first diaper change and got her to take some formula from a bottle. And so, began our journey together often with her sleeping on my chest while watching cartoons on a Saturday morning laying on the couch. Our first home was in base housing at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. Next was Camp Lejuene, North Carolina; back to Beaufort; overseas to Japan; back to Auburn University, Alabama; up to Quantico, Virginia; down to Cherry Point, North Carolina all in the first 5 years of her life. Erin was a seasoned international traveler. Several more moves were still in store. During those times, she would often visit with her grandparents in Hamilton, Massachusetts and Bethesda, Maryland during the summer. My career as a Marine pilot meant two things: I would be away from home a lot and we would move regularly. Fortunately, we had many friends whose kids all played and schooled together and were often stationed with us at different bases. Many of these friends are still part of our lives and were fondly remembered by Erin. Sadly, my divorce and remarriage meant longer separations and long-distance visits, but also brought her adopted brother and sister, Travis and Diane, into her life. New siblings meant new relationships and they grew to love each other even though our family became geographically separated. To this day, they love, argue, make up and miss each other as siblings always do. In 1995, through some friends at Auburn University, Erin met Lance Frick and they quickly became a couple. In 2001, Erin married Lance, the love of her life. Lance was the perfect mate for Erin. He was handsome, industrious and ambitious, and most important also an Auburn alumnus. They were a happy couple beginning their journey in life in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, in 2004, they were blessed with the arrival of their son, Taylor and moved into their beautiful home which they built in Brookhaven, Georgia. Over the next several years, everyone managed to see each other as much as jobs, time and finances allowed. My wife of 2 years and 19 years as partners, Pat Couture, and I settled in the New Hampshire Seacoast. Pat’s sister MaryKay and Pat’s kids, Keith, Jennifer and Sarah all knew and loved Erin as their sister, and we all spent a week on the seacoast of New Hampshire this past June. Unfortunately, Diane and Travis were not able to attend due to the COVID and a graduation schedule conflict. Diane and her family settled in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Travis and his family live in South Jordan, Utah. Pat’s family all live in Southern and Coastal New Hampshire.

Erin Hunter Meyer Frick, 45, of Brookhaven, GA, passed away unexpectedly on August 20th, 2020 at home.

Erin was born to Robin and Peter Meyer on January 2nd, 1975 at the Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC. As the daughter of a U.S. Marine pilot, Erin attended several schools and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Corporate Journalism in 1997. After graduating, Erin worked for the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and Eden Care Senor Living until 2001. Erin married Lance Frick on April 28, 2001. She then worked for Lance’s building and development company in marketing and advertising. In June 2004, Erin gave birth to a son, Taylor Frick and began her most rewarding career as a stay at home Mom. Erin enjoyed music, decorating, arts and crafts, writing, traveling and most of all, her family.

Erin was preceded in death by her Mother, Robin Meyer; her paternal grandparents, Peter and Francise Meyer; her maternal grandparents, Esther and Norman Himelfarb; and her father-in-law Robert Schubert.

Erin is survived by her husband Lance; son Taylor; brothers Travis Meyer and Keith Couture; brother-in-law Brian Frick; sisters Diane Soucy, Jennifer Couture and Sarah Couture-Dumont; sister-in-law Sheri Frick; Lance’s mother, Toby Schubert; parents Peter Meyer and Patricia Couture; as well as many friends who will all miss her.

No funeral services are planned at this time, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
