A native of Clarke County, Mr. Self was the son of the late John C. Self and Lucille Norton Self. He served in the United States Coast Guard, retired from Dairy Pac, and was a member of Campus View Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Olivia Olvey Self of Athens; son, Brett Jackson Self and wife, Melissa Ann of Winder; daughter, Arryss Danielle Burke of Athens; brothers, Vernon Self of Athens and Ray Self of Winterville, and grandchildren, Cody Tyler Self, Noah James Self, and Aislynn Burke Chau.
Funeral services will be held 4PM Saturday, June 9th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Preacher Butch Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Friday, June 8th at Bernstein.
