An Athens native, Tommy was the son of the late Hammond Meyer and Annelle Erwin and was of Baptist Faith.
Tommy is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Dillard Meyer.
Survivors include his children, Linda Edwards (Paul), Kathy Foster, Lane Taylor (Gerald); five grandchildren, Tom and Tim Thurmond, Levi and Ethan Taylor, Brett Self; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Pastor Brent Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-2 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
