Sue, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Education degree and taught school in Levittsburgh, Ohio and substituted in Jefferson City, Missouri and Muncie, Indiana before retiring to Athens in 1999.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing in its handbell choir.
Survivors include husband, James; daughter, Carole Rawlins (Brian) of Union, Kentucky; son, James Duffie IV (Kimberly) of Greenwood, Indiana; four grandchildren, Lauren Rawlins, Eva Rawlins, Brianna Duffie and Justin Duffie; and brother, John Susko of Athens.
Interment is planned for Youngstown, Ohio.
Local services will be held Friday, August 10, at 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
