A native of Atlanta, Mr. Hendrix was a son of the late William Hendrix and Jessie Bell Nix Hendrix. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked in the transportation industry.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by four brothers, William Hendrix Jr., Thomas Hendrix, Charles Hendrix and Walter Hendrix and sister, Ella Mae Muirhead.
Survivors include wife, Charlotte Wetherell Hendrix of Jefferson; children, Richard Hendrix Jr. (Larry) of Atlanta, Timothy Charles Hendrix (Lauri) of Monroe and Patricia Keller (Jean-Paul) of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Mogan, Ethan Mogan, Joshua Hendrix and Jace Hendrix.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home.
