Melissa Walley Farmer

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2022, at Bernstein Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Tony Vismor of Grace Fellowship Church. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the funeral home in Athens, Georgia, preceding the services. 

Melissa was born on February 10, 1967, in Laurel, Mississippi. She was raised in Athens, Georgia and loved the Georgia Bulldogs, rock and roll, and making her loved ones laugh. She displayed selflessness in her daily life as she was a loving mother, daughter, grandma, and friend to all that she knew. Her faith was unmatched and her love for God was shown through her daily life. She modeled traits of never ending love, generosity, and an unforgettable sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard W. Walley Sr. of Flowery Branch, Georgia; grandparents: Bill and Doll Hendry of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Gavin and Marie Walley of Laurel, Mississippi.

She is survived by her two sons: Dustin Harris McCurley and spouse, Katherin Epps and Reece Jackson Farmer; her mother, Barbara Jeanne Jones (Hendry) and stepfather, Tommy Jones; siblings and spouses: Deanna Walley Folsom and Rob Folsom, Richard W. Walley Jr. and Pam Walley; grandchild, Kurt McCurley; nieces: Kaley Folsom and Kendall Folsom; and other beloved family.
