Mack "Mike" M. McCoy

Mike was from Athens, Georgia. He grew up on the east side of town and ran with many friends that he still held close until the end of his life. He has owned many businesses over the years—Mike's Paint and Body Shop, Classic City Fire Extinguisher, and The Hawg Pen to name a few. He worked hard and played hard, always making friends along the way. He loved to piddle; he was constantly creating, restoring, buying and selling, antiquing, and pawn-shopping.

He was a family man. His businesses were family ran and we were always together—a package deal. He picked his grandkids up at school every day like clockwork, first in line so he could see their smiling faces. His family was his life. He held us tight.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack Manuel McCoy, Sr. and Irene Wehunt McCoy, and his brother, Lonnie "Flip" Hambrick.

In addition to his loving wife, Denise McCoy, he is survived by his his daughter and son-in-law, Kenzi and Chris Johnson, his son, Mickey McCoy, and his daughter, Ellie Bradshaw: his brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Cheryl McCoy: nephew, Lee McCoy: his grandchildren, Kylia Johnson, Matt Haley, Austin Haley, Skylar Johnson, Memphis Bradshaw, Myah Bradshaw, and Macks Bradshaw: Great Grandchildren, Caitlyn Grace Elrod and Evan Dale Shelnutt: And so many friends.

We will have a private service for the family on Thursday, October 14. We will be holding a CELEBRATION OF LIFE for all family and friends in McCoyville on Sunday, October 17 at 2 p.m.—just as he requested. All are welcome. Please bring a dish. We will have hot wings.

Thank you all for your outpouring of support over the last month. You are filling the holes in our hearts with all the love you are sending. He had so much love to give, and we all felt that love every time we looked into his beautiful, silver-blue eyes.
