It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kenneth Feinstein on March 29, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on July 1, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Ken was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the cherished spouse of Martha Feinstein and the devoted father of Rachel Murthy and Abigail Rizk and father-in-law to Mike Rizk. Ken was born to Doris and Arthur Feinstein and was the brother of Norman Feinstein. He was a proud grandfather to Nora Murthy, Claire Murthy, Ellie Rizk, and Max Rizk, all of whom brought him immense joy. His family meant the world to him, and he will be remembered for his loving and generous nature and his dedication to those closest to him.
Professionally, Ken was a chemical engineer who worked in the field of process engineering in research and development as well as manufacturing. Ken had an excellent engineering mind and was a natural problem solver. He could solve problems from a conceptual to a hands-on level, a rare find these days. He made contributions to many products that we use today, including sutures, dialysis membranes, and printing plates.
Ken was devout to Judaism and was a wealth of knowledge about the religion and culture. Although Judaism was a powerful guide in his life, he always remained curious and open to learning other religions and cultures. He had an adventurous spirit and generous soul. Ken would hop on a wave runner or mountain bike into his mid-70s. He loved bridge, tennis, racquetball and pickleball. He had a great sense of humor that was kept intact until the end. What he loved most was spending time with his family.
Ken's adventurous spirit, warm heart, and curiosity will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of intellectual curiosity, love for life, and a family that will continue to honor his memory.
A memorial service for Ken will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 3:30 p.m., at Congregation Children of Israel, 115 Dudley Dr., Athens, Georgia 30606.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
